Home Crisis Kit -

Can any of this be translated for a business? Take notes, we will discuss how personal items for a family can translate into a business crisis plan/kit. Keep in mind specifically the short mentions of communication elements.

This video can be translated into a business because it is informing families to purchase major items if a crisis occurs and is providing how important these items are when a crisis has ended whether it be a natural disaster or a terrorist attack. Therefore, these items can save many families and they will force families to be prepared for the next crisis.

The thought is also for businesses to be prepared. Should businesses keep food for their employees? Do you think this is good?

First of all, this guy is weird. I don't know about anybody else, but it drove me crazy that he kept looking to the side throughout the entire film. Anywho, it was informative. Even families should have crisis plans. I found it interesting that he told them to have a communication plan: who to contact, not to rely on cell phones, etc.
I'm not really sure what you mean by "Can it be translated into a business," but from how I understand the question...No. Since he was just explaining how to prepare a crisis package and not promoting a specific product, I wouldn't consider the video a business commercial or anything. But like I said, I'm not really sure what you meant by that question.

Should a business prepare these packs for their employees? Should they have 72 hour kits for employees? How about being prepared in general? I.e., a business should have a wall phone and not just wireless.

I thought the video clip was informative and helpful at helping a family put together a crisis plan/kit. Certain aspects of the kit can be translated into the business world and in answer to Liz's question I feel that a wall phone for a business is very important. I don't think that it is the business's responcibility to keep food for hundreds of employees in the chance of a crisis, but making sure they protect themselves and have the means to make contacts outside the organization (with a wall phone for example) if a crisis situation occurs is something that could end up being invaluable to the company and doesn't take up time, money or space or impede efficiency or productivity.
