How This Works

June 19: Out of class: interview a member of the media about their tips for interview techniques, handling the media on a normal day versus crisis, considerations for press during a crisis, to press conference or not… that is the question, press release to the media during a crisis, how to alert media this isn’t just another press release, and you create a top 10 things to consider or you learned from the interview.

Advantages: Respect gained from admitting you were wrong
Disadvantages: lawsuit- legal liability
A partial apology can have some real value because it can safe face in the publics eye and can still provide creditbility, even if its only words.
The advantage is that you come out looking a little better than if you just ignore it and get some respect from admitting your faults.
The disadvantage is that you open yourself up to lawsuits.
